I don't really test that much and the only corals i have are two zoa frags, i've never tested for calcium or alk, just ammonia, nitrate, nitrite and ph but haven't had any problems. Why do u need to test for calc and alk?

I use Salifert Test Kits for both Ca and Alk. They are easy to use and fairly reliable.
edit -- i read "what do u need to test for calc and alk?" -- not "why"! (patent is right)
can you tell i'm at home sick in bed and have read too many forums today?

Various inverts and corals use ca and alk. If you don't have any inverts, and only two zoas, regular water changes are probably covering it so you don't need to worry. Still, wouldn't hurt to bring a sample to your LFS for testing to know for sure.
