I'm looking to diversify my tank. It's been up for a month or two now, with LR seeded from much more established tanks. Pods are starting to multiply and coralline is growing, and the cleaners and frags are doing very well. I was just thinking it might be benificial to seed in some sand to get some more benthic organisms; the sand I'm using started out inert. Is this necessary, or would it just bring in another host of possible nasties? I have had the system fallow for over the crypt lifespan, I would hate to introduce it. Then, I guess the final question would be... Does anyone with a much more mature system want to bring a cup or two to the meeting on saturday?

better off just letting your LR seed your sand....

Ditto. I'm very leary of sand from others becuase you can get the bad with the good such as flatworms etc.
