Recently I picked up a bunch of small cerith snails. They don't seem to be able to right themselves when they're on the sandbed so every day there about six or so that I have to remove from the sand. I assumed they were just falling off the rock but I found out yesterday that I was wrong. I watched my blenny pick a snail off the rocks and drop it in the sand. I imagine it's a territory issue but I just wish he would leave the snails alone, I already spend way too much time with my hands in the water.

My regal does that.
cerith snails should be able to turn over...if something is knocking them down it might take them some time before they feel safe to right side them selfs up.

My first ceriths seemed to do just fine at righting themselves, but the new batch have more difficulties. Most were laying on the sand, upside down with their foot partially extend sometimes, for three days before I put them in a glass jar. In the jar, within a hour they were crawling all over the glass. The first ceriths were kept in a tank with a fairly coarse substrate and the new ones are in a finer sand so I don't know if that makes a difference or not.
