I got some orange mushrooms with some zoas i bought. They opened up pretty large around 2 inches. But now they are only like 3/4 inches open. I had them by a high flow area. Now I see one that disappeared and the remaining one seems to be releasing its feet.
My tank parms are stable. Ammonia 0, Nitrite 0, Nitrate 2.5, 1.025.
My lps and zoas seem to be doing very well. So is the mushroom just tired of high flow and is relocating itself?

In general Mushrooms prefer low to medium flow.
You mentioned your Nitrate levels. Did you mean 2.5 ppm?

I wouldn't say the mushrooms are dying. It is more likely that they are looking for a quiet place to rest. You might need to adjust your power heads. If you have other corals in your aquarium that are doing fine, I highly doubt that the mushrooms are dying. They are one of the easiest softies to keep alive.

yah, nitrate at 2.5 ppm.
Thats what I was thinking. They are just moving to somewhere quieter. I put the zoa frag with the mushroom in a high/med flow area in the center of the tank where the two powerhead flow collides. Hopefully it floats to somewhere quieter.

In my tanks sometimes they just move. They should reattach to some rock and be ok.
