All are happy, my Acans, acan echinata, wilsoni, purple death, princess peach zoa, goniastrea, fungia.... everything!
Besides this little colony of zoas I've had for 5 months. It was doing very well, but the last too days it has been resesing on on side. I dip everything that goes into my tank.
What should I do? should I dip it? What could it be?
Thanks
I had a colony once that was doing great, growing and looking bright for a few months. Same thing happened, not sure why but the just melted. All the other zoas near by were ok.

I got the samething too. What I found is that it open up when I feed with coral food.
I think it might be the light is too bright. I have to move it to a more shaded area.:beerchug:

Mines did the same also then I moved it down to the bttom and it's opening again. Have you moved it,change flow or lights?

Typically bright light will make them smaller polyps some get brighter colors some not and is a case by case basis. However, I've never experienced too much to cause to retract. Certainly possible but I'd look for other reasons.
Anytime zoanthids retract for long periods of time or receed, pests are the number 1 suspect until you can absolutely possitively rule that out through very close inspections outside of the tank along with dipping to see what falls off.

I did switch the bulbs. But that was two weeks ago and this started two days ago. I'll dip it. Then watch. Then maybe move it.
Thanks
