Mushrooms Gone Wild!!

My buddy gave me a small purple mushroom rock 10 years ago and look what happen. I have traded some to get fish and the other two mushrooms that I have in my tank. To bad I cant do that with clowns.

It is amazing how big the get this time of the year because the sun hits them for a hour or so later in the day. The sun dosn't hit them in the summer because of how the house faces. Most likely a good thing.

I did have one small tank disaster that did take down a few. Being not an expert, i am very happy.

Unless you want them, get them out NOW! To each his own, but in my opinion, the Rhodactis can be as bad or worse than Aptasia, though, look a little better! I literally have hundreds to a thousand of those little f...g bastards. In numbers, they are very aggressive, I have found nothing that will kill them in the tank. They WILL crowd out and grow over any low profiled coral, and, they are literally growing inside and upward on my sps and lps colonies.

oddly enough, i cant get any mushrooms to grow in my tank. I got green ones and a orange one that hasnt split or ever spread. odd..

My first coral was a hairy mushroom (although I was told it was a ricordea, lol) And it was just nice and big, I had it for like 7 months without splitting, then one day, it split into 3. Now they are healing.

I bought a frag from SWE with 2 blue striped mushrooms a few years back. It was 2 shrooms for about a year. Then it started expanding and before I knew it I had 50 - 100 of them all around my tank. It was really odd to see no growth then a massive takeoff.

My tanks seem to grow mushrooms almost as fast as Aptasia. I suppose in reality, the Aptasia grow faster, but at least I can kill a percentage of them. I have probably gave away or brought to the stores hundreds of these mushrooms, too bad Ricordea don't grow this fast! I have tried, but cannot seem to rid my tank of these pests, oh, I mean coral.

If you guys want to get rid of any of your "Infestations" just let me know!! I love mushrooms and Rics!!! Trades, sell? I have a 20 and 28 gallon tank that's empty besides some sand and live rocks I used for my quarantine/transfer tanks and it would be nice to have some color in it!

That would be what my mushrooms would like like in a year or so. At least before I sold them. I had one original mushroom that split into three after 2 months, then the new ones split into two after that. I had 6 after 4 months of keeping them
