hey guys well i think im ready to graduate to the next level of sps. I have a reg 75 gallon.20 gal refuge packed with caluerpa and two mangroves. I have a aqua -c remora skimmer. Two 150 watt 20k hqi metal halides with 2x 96 watt pc's.For flow i Have two korrila stage 4's I MJ 1200 on that lil flo deflector,And two 900's with a 55 gallon per hour return pump.
Now I have been able to keep softies,And lps with no problem for two years.
I also have a orange monti cap that has grown quite well.
I want to start on some more of the sps.Do you think it wil work in my set up?

What is your Alk and MG at also, You will need to keep them as constant as possible to sucessfully keep sps and get good color and health. Your skimmer is a little undersized for your tank also. As far as what you could try after getting everything in line is some pocclipora is easy to keep. anything really bright and colorful will need pristine water conditions consistant levels.

I agree with Goldpony, you are going to need a much better skimmer to keep the nutrients down. Even though your nitrates are low, I would look into getting a better skimmer.

Graduating to the next level, I'd wait on Acroporas. There are lots of montipora, birdsnest, hynophora, poccilipora, stylophora that I'd start with first. 20K 150W MH doesn't produce a very intense light. You are likely going to want to switch to 10Ks to get more intensity and likely upgrade at some point to ahigher wattage like 250W before really starting to get into acroporas if you want nice colors.
Like others have mentioned, ALK / CA / Mg along with PH is real important. At this point just basically a few hard corals and 1 montipora your CA / ALK load is probably not very high. When you start getting more sps corals the demand will go up quite a bit and will need to be sure to supplement and keep those levels in check. Phosphates and nitrates also need to be kept as low as possible as to not inhibit calcification/growth.
