Why is my maroon clown eating my LPS????? She started this a couple days ago. She rips off the pieces of my frogspawn and hammer coral and spits it out!!! I had to put my frogspawn in a acrylic container and will soon be covering my hammer. When I get back from thanksgiving, she HAS to go. I've never heard of clowns picking on corals. Is this common? Can I get different clown and have better luck? Thanks for the input.

yeah. sometime clown will bite off tips of the anemone. she/he must mistake the frogspawn as anemone.

maroons are by far the worst of the bunch...I got rid of mine because of the same issue, mine was the white band, not the gold

She was behaving so well up until this past weekend. I'm going crazy because she's making my LPS look. Her anemone looks beat too.

Do fish still want to breed even if there is no mate? (might be a dumb question but I have no clue) She goes to the bottom and shakes her tail in the sand a lot.

if she is scratching herself against the LR...u might have an Ich issue *early stage*. But just waving her tail at the sand...probably bored, dunno..maybe needs a soul mate

No, she's not itching. She just sort of waves it about 2 inches away from the sand.
