Anyone ever have a Lawnmower Blenny or any other fish strike at them while messing around in their tank? Mine scared the crap out of me when I was reaching around in my tank and wasn't looking. Sheesh, crazy fish:goldfish:
Then my 10 year old son told me the flame hawkfish lept out of the water while he was teasing it (pretending he had food above the water, you know boys). Next thing you know, I can charge admission for the freaky fish tank show!

My little 1 1/2" Ocellaris Clown bites at me almost every time I put my hand in the tank. My girls think it's hilarious...

my mantis shrimp striked me once while i was removing shells from her tank. Scared the crap out of me as I thought she was on the other side of the burrow.

My perc bites me, then I flick my fingres at him and he gets scared and runs away.
I hate clowns... they always bit me. The one pair I had before I sold them were so bold they wouldn't run away so I'd grab her and give a little shake. It worked for a few min then back to bitting me right between my finger.

I had a long horned cow fish until it met the powerhead. :( It was a real neat fish, and would always follow me around when he would see me by the tank. One day, I had my hand in the water, and was looking through the front of the tank, wondering how I should rearrange something. My hand was barely in the water, and the next thing I knew I felt something bite my hand in the web between my thumb and forefinger. Youch! My hand flew out of the water, followed by my cowfish flying through the air. He landed on his back on the carpet. I picked him up, and back into the tank he went.

My gold stripe maroon clown used to bite me between the fingers whenever she got the chance. If she didn't get the chance she would just bite whatever part she could find. B*&^*... It doesnt hurt so much it just startles the crap out of you. I used to shoo her away, but then she got so bold that me swatting at her was like being playfull with a puppy and she would just charge at my hand. My true percs in the big tank only attack if I am working too close to the anemone

My false perc is relentless about picking at my hand when I put it anywhere in the tank. Flicking at it doesn't stop it. But it's so crazy about nipping at me that it's easy to net him (her?) out of the tank when I'm working in it. :)

Not so hilarious if it is a 4" female tomato clown... the one I had used to draw blood. And as others have described regarding their clowns, she was absolutely persistent and it was next to impossible to scare her away.

iv been bitten by tomato clowns before. and indeed they draw blood.
my false percula used to bite me. but not aggressivly. she would gently bite me and try to push me away. as if to say "please go away, i dont want to hurt you!" nowdays she just hides when im in the tank. im sure when she starts breeding, ill get bit often.
as far as freshwater, iv been bitten by a needle nose gar, shovel nose catfish, oscars, a huge peacock bass (meanest female fish ever). oh and a tank full of mollies or goldfish :goldfish: is a sure way to get bitten repeatedly!!! lol

I too have a clown that nips and has drawn blood. Nothing I've done scares it away except THE DREADED GREEN NET!
I usually just prop it up inside the tank (like a bridge) between the glass and some live rock near the area I'm working and clown (and others) stay away from me. If it decides the net is not a threat (because it's not moving), I just chase it around for a few seconds and it will usually stay away for the rest of the time.
