one morning i found a perfect molt in the tank and i removed it right away and placed it onto a paper towel to remove the water. an hour later i came back and started working with it. at this point the skin is still soft enough to move the legs into a natural position. i used super glue to attach the feet to the paper and to secure the shrimp molt.

i made this over a month ago, and it has turned out very good.
here is a picture.

That's very cool. I just pulled a perfect molt out Saturday morning. If I had seen this before then I would have tried it. I may have to do that next time.

i posted this on RC awile ago, and i got a 50/50 mix of replies of "Ewww! you actually put this on your wall?" and "Great idea! ill have to do this with my shrimp!"

at least im not the only one that thinks displaying body parts (molts) or dead critters (beetles, butterflies, crabs) is cool :)

Thats neat, Do you think it will decompose over time? Did you try any clear finish on it at all? Just curious.

I think it's interesting I would stick it in my fish room. My friends on the other hand would think I'm a creepy guy with dead stuff on the wall lol

you should have been making them ever since and sold the collection at the frag swap.

that would be rare chad vossen proof art.

That is very cool, I have to do that with my fire shrimp.
To take it one step further, I rented a house in florida a few years back and in the study the owner had a shadow bow of about 5'x5' with mounted fish from his saltwater tank in it. His brother did taxidermy. It was creepy and cool at the same time. Tangs, wrasses, clowns... with a big marlin mounted over the top of the box.
