I just hooked up a 100 watt CF light to my sump. My display light is 150 watts HQI. I wanted to know if I should operate the sump light directly opposite as my display, keep it on 24/7, or if I should have it on during some other time or duration. I was just worried about what the plants in the sump would do with the PH and whatnot in the tank.
-20 gallon display
-10 gallon sump 34 full with LR.
-colurpa is the plant in the sump
Thanks

Either way would be fine. What other exports and overall nutrient level you have will dictate mostly if you need 24/7 or not.

I was thinking about just going 24/7. I was just worried that the macro algae would need some time to recover from the light and do whatever plants do on a cellular level in the dark. Becides the electric bill, are there any negative implications of going the all day every day route?
