What are those purple bubble things on the 5th picture from the top?? I have a couple of those that have come up in one of my zoa frags

its a macro algae. my bunch is the size of a large fist. it grows really slow for me, but its dark red and adds nice color to the tank. plus i can put my corals on it. i have 3 kinds of red macro algae, as you can probably see in the pictures. i feel that macro algae can be as important as the corals we keep.

after all, that red bubble macro algae is MUCH better looking than hair algae!

Think it's a bad thing if it springs up in the middle of a zoa frag?

i think you may want to eventually remove it and let it grow somewheres else. my algae is huge, yours may eventually get to big for the zoanthids

here are some new corals i got. things are still brown, or turning brown. my montipora has gotten a lot darker and has started growing really fast. the purple tipped acro has nearly encrusted the entire epoxy used to secure the coral.

now i just need to wait many months to grow the corals then i will start to focus on making them color up.
