Looking into stocking my 40 reef. I've got a perc for it, now I'm trying to figure out a plan to fill it out over the long run. I'm thinking eventually I would like the following:

flame angel
2 firefish
6 line/fairy/flasher wrasse (still :book2:)
maybe a yellow tail blue damsel
maybe a goby/blenny of some sort

So my real question is what order should these guys go in? I'm assuming the angel would come lastish b/c the tank needs to be very well established, but what about the rest of 'um? Does this sound like a fair amount of fish for a 40 that's double skimmed w/ 50-60 lbs LR and a 'fuge?

I personally would skip the flame angel for the simple fact that at any time it could turn your reef into a buffet.

And the damsels are going to for the most part start out tiny and cute...get big and not nearly as attractive....and become obnoxiously aggressive

Wes, your list looks fine but there are some things your going to want to keep in mind.

The wrasses and firefish are jumpers, you're going to want to make there your tank is protected against that.

Second, a yellow tail damsel is really hit or miss. They can sometimes be great citizens and other times aggressive.

If you go with a flame angel be prepared for the possibility that they may not work out in your tank. Some people have had great success with them, others not so much due to polyp nipping behavior.
