anyone have a clue? I'm acclimating him and I'd like to know before I toss him in the sump or the display... he'd be a bitch to get out of there, he's pretty cryptic.

good chance it will be similar to the linkia starfish. to me, starfish have different shapes and each shape seems to be generally similar in diets. i could be completely wrong, but chocolate starfish and other starfish with similar body shape seem to eat the same things.
i could be completely wrong, i dont know much on starfish either. but i thought id add my opinion.
I did some searching about and believe it to be Linckia multifora, though a rather drab coloration thereof.

Looks like something I've seen labeled as a dalmatian linkia although the coloration is different.

I have a very similiar looking starfish. Can't positively id but quite sure it's reef safe.

dalmation linkia was my first guess as well.

I have had one for years, and it always pops up after every tank change; and thats a lot
It seems to like the glass, and never messed with any corals (but I never rally kept SPS).
