I am looking to get a bigger and better skimmer for my 90 gal. I was looking at euro-reef, reef mania (beckett style) or maybe new style, and aquac ev series. What do you all think? What has everyone had the best luck with? I would prefer to have it outside the sump. Thanks!

I have had great luck with reefmania and am modeling my next skimmer after his. The aquac I was not impressed with but that was the urchin model. I am partial to needlewheel and recirc needlewheels and a big believer in getting the best skimmer you can get as you get what you pay for.

I love my ASM-G3! Euro-Reef is similar but better built.

Aquamedic T1000 and ER RS100 both will do a great job.
i will stay away from beckett style, the one i had never worked(precision marine bullet series).

ASM G3 modded with Recirculation and direct feed is a cost effective way to get a great skimmer

I am really interested in the reef mania ps6, but not too sure if it will be enough for my 90 gal. I think it would be ok. Otherwise if i can find the euro-reef rc180 for cheap enough I would maybe do that. But for sure the recirculating style, I dont know about the beckett style.

I was very happy with my Aqua C 180 But I plan on having a much larger system 300 plus gallons so I'm in need of a very large skimmer.
I've heard people complain about the aqua c skimmers not producing "stinky" skimmate, but I have to argue I was pulling some fowl garbage with mine. I upgraded to a larger pump and was able to at least double my skimmate.
Just my 2 cents

Euroreef CS 135 would keep you happy, $300.

Thanks everyone for the offers. I really want something external. I dont want to waste room in the sump when I could get something that sits outside of it. Thanks!

Well I ended up buying a ps6 from wolmutt, picking it up today. Thanks everyone for the input.
