Been wanting one for a while as the ole point and shoot was a pain in the arse. Blurred pictures and colors were so off it was ridiculous I finally got fed up and got me a SLR. Canon Eos Rebel Xti. This thing should keep me busy trying to figure it all out for a couple months:freak6:. Already the pics I snapped around the house made me realize how good these things are. :)

Ok critique these. I have found out the stock lens sucks but will have to do for a while. I am pretty new at this and just learning the whole f/stop, shutter speed dealio.

Freckles! It is common for tabby's to get them on their lips, nose and eyelids as they age.

You'll enjoy your new camera. I have a canon EOS 30D. It's a great camera, and I can still use my old canon film lenses. The only new piece to get was a flash because a film camera flash won't work right with a digital camera.
What are you asking for the Prowler out of curiosity?

The prowler pic is very well framed. The "five star" banner in the back is a nice touch and well centered.

hey to save money on lenses you can buy an adapter and use the old FD style manual lenses on it like my T70 uses.

Great start with the shots. they seem to be both over exposed and underexposed in some of the photos.. but keep on shooting learn with experience :) check out www.Acessphoto.com and photography-on-the.net

Sweet pics John. A question... a please excuse the newbness of it, but is the SLR digital or film?

SLR stands for Single lens reflex. To put it bluntly, it's not a point and shoot. An SLR camera uses a mirror system which allows you to see exactly what you're shooting. With a non SLR camera when you look through the view finder you might not always get the same picture on film or in digital format. An SLR can be either film or digital.

Just out of curiosity Jon, and because I decided to start shopping for a new camera. Any paticular reason you decided on this camera and not the others in the price range like to D40 and such?
