Are torch coral and frogspawn from the same family? If I allow them to touch will they get along?

I have never had an issue putting torch, frogspawn, or hammers together. Storrich, are you sure it was a torch and not a galexia? Not to say you dont know the difference, just asking.

sometimes I belive I have had an issue. even from one frog to another (not the same color). It is likely though that the shapes of the polyps are not the end all for ID. I'm just guessing here.

My torch and frammer get along fine, but I don't place anything less than 4" downstream of the torch because it has "snuggled" up against mushrooms in the past and caused some damage.

I had 3 frogspawns, 2 hammers, and a torch in one corner. I noticed one frog head was pulled in tight and I couldnt figure out what it was. All water parameters were good. I noticed a different frogspawn was pulled in the next day....I found two of the torch coral extensions down in the center of the receded head. Off to WOF went the torch.

That sucks, I think this is one of those things that is easily Idebated, as some people have results one way, and some people have results the other way. I honestly had never even heard of anyone having issues until this thread, so I guess you learn something new everyday!

I've also had it both ways. Some do and some don't.
I guess you will find out soon enough.........

all euphillia should get along with the exeption of torch corals. a few people report success with torch corals touching other euphillia, but i think its best to keep the torches seperate.

The torch's sweeper tentacles stick to the frogspawn, and the frogspawn retracts it's tentacles. The don't get along in my tank, shoot!

However, the frogspawn does not seem to be injured. Anything else that gets stung by the torch coral shows scars, but there are none to date on the frogspawn, hmmm.
