My clowns were acting funny this evening...

She makes him do the shimmer thing every now and then but it was almost non-stop this evening about an hour before lights out. When they weren't doing that they were both cleaning the Mag float, which I've never noticed before. About 30 min after lights out she was behind the rocks which she's never done before either...

Good signs they might actually try to breed? I've had her for about four months and him for a couple. She didn't noticeably 'turn female' until I got him a few months ago.

Do you have any pictures of them. It does indeed seem that he is submitting to her. You will notice her swell up before she lays....feed multiple times a day and make sure that your water stays steady...and you lights go on and go off at the same time each day

They seem to be doing very well now. She has put on some size and weight over the last month or so.

He has always submitted to her, just more tonight than I've ever seen.... She's actually pretty easy on him most of the time.

They eat well. A mix of Mysis, Cyclops-Ezee, Formula 1, Selcon and garlic before and after work.

I don't expect much but it's pretty cool to see some unusual behavior.

I am running an AC Jr and using the seasonal programming so sun and moon schedules are realistic...

I'll keep an eye out for her swelling up but I like to keep them fat so it might be hard to tell... ;)
