I got a single head mushroom frag. I tried to glue it to a rock with gel superglue. It holds during the day but eventually break off at night. I don't think it is the glue because I use it for all other frags. Please help.

for sofyies like that you either have to use a rubber band or dental floss. Just keep iu in contact with a rock for a few days and it should grab hold of it on its own

toothpick, hypidermic needle, accupuncture needle
Pierce it and leave it. After a week or so it should have attached. Twist and pull out, like you would with a new piercing.
Thats the method I like.

What direction do you pierce it? I am a noob when comes to frag. Thanks.
Pantyhoes. Ooolala.
Cut the toes off and then one more cut makes a circle. This works like a rubber band but softer and won't damage the coral. This method works great! One pair of pantyhoes will do dozens of frags.
Cutting and piercing softies always gives me the whillies. I swear I can hear them scream. After panty hoes to rock It usually attaches in 2-3 days.
I have been using the red mesh that comes on a crate of Clementines. I just cut a piece off and rubber band to the rock. I think David Grigor uses bridal veil material. Just depends on what you have available.

No matter how I use a rubber band those softies always somehow wiggle out from under it. I agree with Fritz on the needle/piercing method, it has worked the best for me.

how many toes does your girl have?
:)
You just keep cutting further and further up the pantyhoes, not the toes.
I've tried a lot of the meshes/bridal veil etc... The pantyhoes are elastic (Easier to use than non elastic mesh), don't damage the corals, easy to find, and cheap. They are easy to apply and you can spread them out to cover the entire coral and overlap onto the rock so there's no chance of it coming out unless it attaches it's foot and crawls out. In which case problem solved.
Only situation this method doesn't work as well is if the part of the rock your attaching too is too large to fit the panythoes around. Then I'd go with a mesh.

I used the thread and needle first. Just take a 2" piece of thread and pierce the softy. Then take super glue and glue the thread ends down to the rock. By gluing the thread down your able to control how tight it is. I have tried wrapping the thread around the rock but it is harder to control that way.
If that doesn't work then lastly will use the mesh of some kind to hold it down.
The thread and needle seems to work best though.

with mushrooms
I get a shot glass
Fill it with tank water
Place a piece of rubble in the bottom
put the mushroom in
cover with some type of netting. I have used old nets that were cut up and pantyhose
it should attach in a few days

anywhere
we choose not to pierce a mouth or polyp, but I doutbt this matters.
Frog, not sure. We always use accupuncture needles since we have tons from the acrylic work.
sewing needle and fishing string works great.
