this is the most amazing system ever, the good old fashion way, no steriods!
As far as i'm concerned, it's reefkeeping 101

Beautiful tank.....but I still prefer Weast's and Stan's tank over that one.

The tank is obviously a well cared for healthy and beautiful system, however, there is no rhyme or reason to it. There is no design whatsoever, no aquascaping, no color coordinating, no visual thought no artistic consideration. It a collection of corals jammed packed together. Beautiful, yes- Stunning, no and certainly not tank of the decade. A stunning system must be more than a mere collection of corals on a rock wall it is a living landscape. Steve Weast's tank was by far more thought out and complete than this one. Don't get me wrong I would LOVE to have than tank- I just would have done it very differntly.

Less than lights- True True, Nice collection of corals for sure but it does lack a true aquascaping with a balance toward colors.

I agree about the jam packed thing, and steves aquascaping by far surpasses it. but this tank, stand and canopy are simply amazing to me
(and it was probably a third of the cost of weast's tank)
sorry to offend you with that title lessthanlights,
title should have been tank of the decade in my opinion

What would you use an air compressor for? He has one in his equipment list.

Large skimmer perhaps, when you get to a certain size you have to feed them ait to keep up

No the skimmer is a downdraft, no need for an air compressor for that beastie... I saw that too and was puzzled....

I guess I'm too much of a newbie to criticize the aquascaping. I agree it does look crowded, but I think it's quite beautiful.

So.... With all these critiques on this guy's aquascaping... who is our resident expert with the artistic eye? Who has the best eye for aquascaping?

I don't mean "Who knows technically how to drill and rod together structures. Certainly we do have THAT expertise... I mean, who can say "Lay it out like THIS and THIS and like THAT", so it can technically be drilled and rodded together, and actually have it LOOK nice.

I might be able to assemble almost any sort of rockwork, given enough patience, but I KNOW that I don't an eye for the artistic, aesthetically pleasing result.

Anyone? (and YES, just by the way, I DO happen to have a LARGE aquascaping project coming up, why do you ask? :-)
