I got a 25 gal and need some ideas on what to put in it. I started this tank with the idea of putting a mantis in there, but all the talks about glass braking is making me think of other ideas. I already have a 72 reef tank and i want this one to be a specialty tank of some kind.
Thanks for the ideas

why not, i've had a mantis i got with some rock for 3 years or so now. he wasn't even moving, as he was just lying between wet paper towels and rock. never given me any problems. the only way I see you having problems, is if you get a six inch peacock. mine is cool, i've had him with quite a few fish with no problems,he's domesticated. only problem is you cant have snails or hermits

yes sir, other than that, all I know is he's a smasher, and he's from the caribbean
I'll second the mantis... I had a 4" peacock in my 12gal before I moved from STL and was fantastic. I could keep all the corals I wanted and they are actually VERY low maintenance. The thing about glass breaking came about because the tanks use to be much thinner. The only thing you might consider is putting a piece of acrylic on the bottom under the sand in case it starts digging down. The are very hard to kill from neglect as long and you don't use any solvent cleaners(floor cleaners) around or in the same room as the tank w/out covering it up.
