I have the ASM G3 which is rated for 250 gallons. I was running it on a 75 gallon display and a 20 gallon sump.

My question is:

I plan to move to a 180 with a 75g sump which equals 255. Is the G3 still going to be good enough for me?

I know I will have a lot of LR and sutff, so I won't really be pushing more than probably about 200 or so gallons.

IMO: Pretty much any 6" skimmer is going to be underated for a 180g.

Although there are some pretty good mods to get more out of your ASM, I'd still look to upgrade to an 8" skimmer body.

It might get you by, but the bigger the skimmer the better.

Looks like I will be upgrading in the future.

The wife is going to love that. :lol_hitting:
