I'd like to know the gurus opinions on the new XSi versus the XTi.

I've read the reviews from dpreview.com(both) and steves-digicams.com(XTi so far) and am would like some input from the local photo experts.

When it comes to photography I enjoy taking a lot of pictures and like the ability to take a burst of pictures and pick the best of the bunch so the higher FPS the better for me.

I currently use a 4 year old Canon G3 and absolutely love it, except the picture quality isn't there when I start cropping/editing photos.

So I'm wondering should I look at the XSi or wait until the XTi goes on sale.

Opinions?

I have the XTI but can't tell you anything about the XSI.
So far I just love the XTI. Easy to use, makes great pictures.
Even with the standard lens you go a long way.
I got a macro lens for it in the mean time which is great for better close ups.
I learned to shoot in the RAW format which is much better to adjust the white balance, crop etc. with good software.
There are some places who have the XTI on sale now: click here (http://www.pricingdepot.com/compare.asp?item=1236b002). Just look around a bit online.

Here are a few pics I took a while ago and yes I am a newbie with photography

I don't have any experience with the XSi, but I adore the XTi
here are some examples as well

(this second one is obviously not of an aquarium, I don't know if you care, but I thought it was a good example of what the camera is capable of)

I'd go with the XTi, they are really nice and have gotten super cheap.

Half the price they were < 6 months ago
