i just got my RO/DI unit from the filter guys!! They say thanks to the forums for steering me in their direction.

I will be getting a TDS meter. Is the inline meter for convience or will it work better than the handheld cheep one.

Get an inline. For a hand held to work correctly, your glass must be super clean and you have to remember to use it.

I have this one and I like it: http://www.airwaterice.com/product/SENNODUALTDSMETER/Dual_TDS_Meter_Senno.html

Free shipping, it shows both the in and the out at the same time and its backlit so its easier to read in my mechanical room.

We have the RO/DI from the filter guyz and we bought the inline TDS, it's pretty slick if you put extra quick fittings you can change it quickly to check tap in, RO out, or DI out. Right now we have it between the RO and the DI units, we have like 1 part going into the DI and 0 coming out, the unit has been running for 6 months with no filter change. It's a nice little unit and not that pricy. Just press a button to turn it on, and you can flip a switch to check if it's incoming or outgoing. Nice to keep tabs.

We tested our tap water going in when we first set it up and it was at something like 480 parts, scared the tar out of me we had been drinking the stuff... UGH. We pretty much strictly drink RO and use it for coffee, and some cooking. Makes a world of difference.

www.bulkreefsupply.com carries the inline meters locally as well for a decent price. It would have been cheaper to get it when you got the unit (shipping wise), but hindsight is always 20/20 :)

Go to SWE and get one. For one Fritz is super competitive with prices, you get to check out a new store, and he were's a pink tutu :gay1: Sorry Fritz that picture otilth has is priceless.

I got mine from SWE just 2 or 3 weeks ago....works like a charm (Inline). Easy to install as well:biggthumpup:

Another vote for inline. Not only is the handheld less likely to get used, you have to rinse your cup out really well or it can cause TDS to read higher than it really is. Just a pain.

Yup, I like the inline. All you need to do is hit the button and you get your reading.

Are those the same or similar as the ones from Bulkreefsupply?

Definitely inline. I had my RO/DI for 2 years before I got the TDS meter. Definitely something to have from the beginning, makes it a whole lot easier to know when to change things out from the unit :agree:

Like mentioned earlier if i would only plan a little better i wouldn't have to pay double shipping. But im gonna blame someone else for not telling me to get it when i purchased my unit. I think it should be just incorporated into the package. You shouldnt have a choice. You must buy!

It ships for free from air water ice (my first link). If that's all you need, I'd go that way.
