Overflow tube ?

What can i buy to cap off my overflow tube to keep creature out of it. Right now i have a cap with a million holes but to honest I dont like it. What do people use. I want something like this 1127

One of the pieces from a trivial pursuit game would be just about perfect if you could cut out the little pie pieces with like a dremel or something?

Bulkhead strainers. They come in all the typical sizes, 1/2, 3/4, 1, 1.5"........

when at menards and asked for a bulk head strainer the guy thought i was a lunatic, so where do you buy them and is there another name

Menard and such only carry the larger ones like 1.5" and above. I've never checked but you may be able to get them at a pool supply place.

This is more of a specialty item that I always have gotten from an aquarium specific place. Like premiumaquatics. You can call around to see if LFS in our area carry them.

Alternative is to make your own with some cable ties and the cross-stiching plastic grids from Michaels or other hobby stores. Comes in various sizes and real cheap.

LOL I got looked at like I was a lunatic when I asked for a bulkhead fitting alone!

I tried a 1.5" strainer from Menards and I'd caution that it significantly increased backpressure and reduced flow which was a deal breaker for me but may or may not matter for your application. I didn't experience that problem with an earlier strainer I purchased online at marinedepot.com.
