Call a sign shop. They can probably sell you a piece of black vinyl that dimensions that wouldn't have a seam.

I've seen references to stick on backgrounds before so I Googled it and found these (http://www.marinedepot.com/ps_searchItem.aspx?SearchText=&IdCategory=FIAQBG&breadcrumbsid=3733847&searchlogtext=Aquarium_Background&logtype=current_category&searchstep=1&itemsonpage=60&sort=rating%20desc&pageindex=0&parsed=1&category=Saltwater_Aquarium_Supplies___Aquariums-Aquarium_Background&gclid=CPWrtNiN-ZICFSIwlgodTFVkGA)
The application of those remind my of some low-e window film i put in my office that was reasonably priced. It applies with soap and water.
I don"t know how dark that stuff comes in but a couple applications of it might just do the trick.

I would look into standard window tint. I think the darkest they make is a "5" which is what they put on limo's

i would actually pass on the window tint. My brother and I put it on our 75 and you can easily see through the tint to the wall behind the tank. I am fairly sure it was 5% tint that we used also.

well i am not positive that ours was 5%, maybe my brother will post in with what % ours is or someone else will have experience with using tint.

Here ya go. And while the black is really nice I think you should go with the shark from nemo.

It was indeed 5% 'Limo tint' stuff. Luckily the wall behind the tank is solid white paint or it might be ugly.

They have some large background with adhesive at Axman. They have huge rolls in the back and it is cheap. I bought mine about 2 years ago, so not sure if they still have the stuff.

Get a hold of Timmy77 he works at a sign shop, I'm betting he could get you a deal. Less than $10 I would think, just drop him a PM

I used black Contact-Paper. Basically the same as the sign vinyl. I wish I'd thought of the sign vinyl, as that is a much better deal, and no seam to contend with. It took time to apply carefully, but looks good.

Has anyone tracked down a local source of black vinyl yet?
I'm going to do some calling around on the east side...If I find anything, I'll post it here.

I'd bet some arrangement could be made with the sign shop on the corner of the building SWE is in. If nothing else, I found the contact paper in large 25 yard rolls on eBay and locally at the ACE hardware locations, purchasable by the foot in many colors, including black. HD and Menards just stock short 3 yard rolls, and was a much more expensive place to buy.

or 75' rolls
