The ballast for my refugium light burned out about a week ago. I am debating on buying either a compact flourescent light or a t5 HO light. I had a 2x65Watt Compact flourescent fixture over the refugium before. Does anyone have any reason why I should get the t5s instead? The t5 light that would fit my refugium is 96 watts and the power compact is 130 watts. Do t5s generally have a higher PAR value per watt? I may use this light for coral growth in a very shallow tank down the line.....
