ID, please (friend or foe?)

I found this underneath my GSP so I captured it for a closer look. It is a tad bit smaller than a quarter. It stuck to the turkey baster when I tried to extract it, and seems to dislike direct light. It wasn't attached to the coral- it seemed to be burrowed into the sand. Any thoughts on what it is, and if I should expunge it? I couldn't find anything like it when I searched. Thanks!

Looks to be some sort of pest anemone. Majano anemone most likely. I've never read of people being able to just suck them out with a turkey baster before though, so maybe it's something else.

I found two more of these little buggers, so that makes four if you count the baby one stuck to last night's find. So clownnut, if you're not clowning, I guess you can have 'em or its Tidy Bowl time.

I had a couple in my tank then I moved the rock work around and lost track of them. Pretty weird looking critters.

i've had a few in my LR before too. they don't seem to move around alot, and there haven't had any complications with any other corals.

doesn't look like the most common aip/mojano pest anemones, but I'm unsure. I'd certainly be on the look out and look for a certain ID before leaving it in.

from the pic AMWeets gave I would put money on it that its a corallimorph.

I agree. Not Anemonia majano. My first thought was some sort of Corynactis (a genus of Corllimorph that are more anemone-like than mushrooms), or something similar. I've had these in my tanks and they seem to prefer the dark and have not spread or become pests.

I've had loads of pest anemone, that doesn't look like any I had.
