I'm looking to put numbers on tank photos (yes, of fritz's tank - finally, I know) and I can not figure out how to do so.....

Sorry, I don't use Windows :).... I downloaded the GIMP to do that, just need to figure out how to do it.

you can download the photoshop demo and use it for 30 days. Works really easy.

If you print one and write the numbers on then scan or fax it. I'm sure any of us could fix the file up for you in a jiffy.:biggthumpup:

He could zip the files and send them to me, I can color touch them if need be and add anything he wants rather easy.

Matt ... the text tool in Gimp is denoted by a large "A" in the toolbox. Once you select it, the lower part of the toolbox should have the various font parameters so you can make the text the appropriate size and color to be seen on the photo. When that is all set, click on the photo were you want to put text and Gimp will insert a textbox and open a dialog to type in.

EDIT: if you would like, we can hookup through my work's GoToMeeting and do a little training. It's a Java based product so it should work for our computers (Linux for me although I've not yet tried it under Linux).
