So how exactly does a Kalk reactor work? What is it fed with? I just picked up the REEFMANIA reactor form Hot Soup and I would like to get it rolling.

I have my dosing pump for top-off run through my kalk reactor. Works great.

Kalk reactor, you pretty much need a freshwater container in conjunction. Most reactors can't handle the pressure to hook directly to RO/DI unit ( not that I would want to supply an endless water supply anyway ). So if you have to have a water container anyway, might as well just dump your Kalk in the container and skip the reactor. Most reactors are not supplying fully saturated Kalk between refills. So if you wanting to maximize your ALK/CA with Kalk alone the bucket method is probably better anyway.
