it really depends on the type of wood you want, anywhere from $250 for cheapy white oak to $6000 for Wenge, or if you really want to slurge i can do the once-in-a-life-time bubinga for around $20K

ok so today was a nightmare to get the plumbing parts. for all i now the world does not make the right adaptors to hook up an octopus 2000 return pump to PVC, took me about 2.5 hours at menards to find something that would work. sooo i didn't get the work done tonight, i'll ahve to do it tomorrow.

Ok so i got the stand frame done. I'm not sure when i'll get the the skinning as its not a super priority for me right this second.

here is the sump

how do you get in to work on the sump and skimmer you ask?

this drawer slide will hold over 200 lbs, i'm not planning on running the water that high its a 25 gallon so even if it fills with water that is only 214 lbs (which i shouldn't if it does im in deep doodoo.

plumbing

and the screen top i made last night

+2 on the screen top for mine as well. The frame and screen material is just staring at me!

Granted you are selling the Cone but how much clearance under there? Flexible tubing for the return etc so you can pull out the sump?

Nice work!

You don't thank that skimmer is too much for that 45 gal??

i may keep the cone, i'm only gonna get a BK if i can sell this quick and get a good deal on the BK cone. there is actually no at clearance, i have to take the cup off, its the only way it works. i'm brainstorming right now to make more room, i think i have figured out how. as far as the plumbing goes i bought a bunch of unions and ball valves so that i can slide the ump out whenever i want. and *just* to make sure i'm going to add a wheel on a hinge and a spring so that i can be sure it doesn't fall when open

Are you worried about the center of gravity coming too far forward and making it tip?

no, like i said up top i'm going to add a wheel on the front of the drawer that is on a hinge and a spring so that the when the drawer opens the weight is not pulling on the stand at all.

here is the "landing gear" this will keep the front of the drawer from crashing down and tipping the stand.

We just did it here a few days ago. It can be tricky but we had no problems at all. Just follow the instructions really well
