So I scrounged up enough cash to get two pieces of acylic, which the guy from a1 ended up giving me for free!! Thanks A1!!!! I also bought the rest of plumbing I needed. I siliconed in the sump baffles, plumbed the return. I ran 3/4 pvc from the tank to about a foot away from the pump and used tubing from there to cut down vibration and make for easy removal. Also installed a piece of foam like you line cabnets with to prevent scratching to help with noise. I added the rock to the tank as well. I need to add a heater or two and water!!!!!!!.Here's some pics.

Looking good. I'd add a piece of foam under the sump to insulate any vibration from reverberating in the stand.

Also, thank about adding a union on the return line. Its a lot easier to undo a union and get the pump out than it is to fiddle with the vinyl tubing while under the tank.

Getting close! I'm assuming you won't be needing those 3/4" pipes from me then?

No I convinced the wife to invest in my hobby! She gave me more allowance this week. I wanted to add a union, but they only had cpvc 3/4 unions at the true value I stopped at and cpvc has a differnt OD,.

I didn't think it did. Anyway, Lowes has them for sure. That's where I got them.

Cool. What would you go with for a heater/ heaters? I only have the width of the 20l to fit them. Otherwise they have to go in the DT.

You have a controller, right? I just use the VisiTherm stealth's. That's all I've ever used. I've had one thermostat fail (still works fine on a controller), and one that zapped me.

Basically, all heaters suck and these don't suck any worse than any others. They are relatively inexpensive, no glass, and completely submersible. I'm happy with them.

ok, then make sure you keep a good eye on it till a RKL is in the budget. I don't trust any built in thermostat.

I used an Aqueon heater in my 29 and it worked great. Solid 78 degrees the whole way. What wattage?

What's the room temp and return pump? Are there halides in that light? Do you still have the heater from the 29? If so, what size is it?

i think your return pvc is to long, it will back sophin to much water into your sump...causing it to over flood.

Is there an anti siphon hole drilled in it? It can stay that low as long as there is a hole in it. I like to drill them just under the water so they aren't noticeable. Be sure to keep it cleaned out though. If it plugs with algae you will have water on the floor on a power outage.

The pump is a Mag 750, temp is mid 65 or so(its downstairs kind of chilly in the winter) I have the 29 heater, I think it 150W. No halides, 4 t-5's with moonlights and cooling fans.

Which return are you talking about, the top one is an emergency drain, the bottom is the main drain and it's as short as it can be? Unless you mean cutting the end shorter?

Use the heater you have and add a second 100-150W. Then if one fails, it won't be able to overheat as fast.

No no, the 3/4 return pipe from the pump. You want to make it so that when the power goes out, the siphon stops and it doesn't suck half your tank down into the sump.

Gotcha. I'll pick up the same one. They will both fit in the sump too so that works out nicely!
