ok so i stopped at stans to get the RO/DI i bought from him and of course i stayed to long. so i didn't have time to get the plumping i did stop and get the lumber though, i'll be using 2x4 guts to hold the thing and then rail and stile/panel skinning. the rails and styles will be quarter sawn padauk and the panels will be streaked maple (its pretty cool) so i'm gonna leave you waiting for pics one more day or untill i get my controller!!!!! what ever comes first!!!

Red Dragon return pumps seem to be the bomb.

i couldn't find a used one and i don't want to spend 800 on a pump so i bought whatever li put in front of me, li hasn't steered me wrong yet, except that one time, but we don't talk about that one time...

If Li sent you down the wrong path, the Eheim pumps are top notch. A 1250 or 1260 would work great on a 45. I run a 1260 on my 57. Just don't get a 1262. Its way too much.

PS, and in the nicest way possible, if Li sent you home with an Aqueon 3000, take it back. Its a great pump but it draws a ton of power. It was causing my tank to overheat. It just isn't right for a smaller tank that can't dissipate the heat as well as a larger mass of water.

They're in??? I've been waiting for those to come in. They seem to be pretty much a replica of the Ocean Runner Pumps only a little less expensive... Let me know how you like it as I'm planning on getting one for my build.

yeap! in the bottom of the stand i am going to build a shelf on ultra heavy duty drawer slides, so i can slide the sump in and out to work on it. i'm oing to plumb in unions and ball valves to facilitate this!
