haha, well this went south...
such a pretty and colorful fight though...
It is all over, the bigger of the two cquest is now the dominant and it looks like the female is accepting his presence. She doesn't seem to show much interest in her old mate anymore but seems like she kinda helps the cquest fend him off now. That's the hard reality I guess.....
I'll school them this way for now to see if I like it. If anything I'll just put the wild pair back in their tank.
It's morning and they seemed to have settled down. Looks like the female still favors the wild male although she shows no effort to help him. She just mock charges the other two except the wild male.
As for the 3 little guys, they all seem energetic and want more but the larger cquest is still dominant. The 3 are just doing mock charges and chasing one another. No damage done, this may work out....
The school failed and I gave the cquest pair to a buddy. The wild pair is doing great! The addition of a sebae(H. Crispa) yield great results as the female is now in love with it(as she should! It's their natural host). Here are some night shots!
It seems like the anemones are slowly adjusting to the LED lighting. Their colors are conning back and they now glow again under the royal blues. The clowns are doing great as always. I will wait til all the anemones become 6in plus and cover up all the rocks before I attempt to add a few juvi clowns to attempt another school.
Here is a Video.
so its been months and the anemones arent doing well. i havent been the greatest with water changes as well. Finally setup my ph probe for the ac jr. and found that my Ph is at 7.62. Started dosing kalk and mag again like i did when i was running sps. 2tsp of kalk/gallon. PH, has been stable at 7.9 night and 8.05 day time. Once that stablized i'll jump it to 8.2 day. anyways here are two vids. day and night, also added new PBTA w/green tips.
should of keep the MH...:gay1:
maybe it's poor water quality? LoL
It was nice while it lasted. It was worth a shot. Good for you.
I look forward to more from this thread.
so i ditched the LEDs and now have a 70w MH over it. my bleached anemones are slowly gaining their colors back.
quick update, look the same. almost 1yr old now. 2 more months
finally got a new bulb, Ushio 20K.
Not sure if you still check this, but, how did you plumb this? How many total gallons was the system? Ato? Hoping to do a 12 gal cube with bta/clown pair trying to do some research.
My nem is very happy in my 8 gallon... but I do 2 2gallong water changes a week and have an awesome light set up
