I'm back with a vengence....well, I'm back. I have really missed having a big tank, so I have been searching for a large rimless. All the companies I contacted either had a ridiculous lead time or I was going to have to sell a kidney to buy one. I broadened my search to include Eurobraced and found this guy....
    http://www.scaquariums.com/SCA-210-Gallon-Starfire-Tank-p/sca-210g.htm

So far, they have been great to work with and are even willing to store the tank until I can get a stand made. It looks like I might be having a tank moving party in the next couple months...beer included of course.

I'm still working out the details as far as equipment goes. I figure that everyone will be showcasing their new designs at MACNA, so I didn't want to spend too much time looking now.

This will be a reef tank, heavy on the sticks.

    More to come.

Skimmer has been purchased. Probably overkill, but I got a Reef Octopus Regal 300int. The obligatory pictures next to a beer can will be posted when I get it.

Working with Jason L for the stand. I'm excited to see the final product.

I knew the skimmer was going to be big, but I was surprised at how big the collection cup is.
No beer cans in the house, but a beer bottle is a pretty good reference.

King Kong considered climbing this skimmer instead of the Empire state building...

I got a call this morning from a trucking company. I just placed an order for work so I didn't think anything of it. Turns out the aquarium is sitting in Eagan and they want to know when I would like to schedule the delivery. Looks like I may need to turn to my friends at TCMAS sooner than I thought... sigh.

What do you need? I might have some stuff laying around, or a helping hand if that's also needed.

At this point all I have left to get are the lights, powerheads, and return pump. A helping hand once I get everything lined up would be awesome!! :)

If I'm in town that day(s), I'm all for providing a helping hand. Let me know.

    Very frustrating day.

The tank got delivered. It was not what was represented in the picture. There were extra crossbraces like you would find in a regular trimmed 6' tank. There is some sort of internal trim on the bottom of the tank. The overflow sizes were not right.

    No response from the manufacturer.

This sounds like the beginning of a country song.

The price seemed a little too good for what they were advertising.

Oddly enough, everything they did cost more money. The rest of the build looked great. The caulk was impeccable and the polishing was great as well.

On a good note, Jason delivered my stand yesterday. I wanted a modern, low-key stand. Very happy with the results. Thanks again, jlanger!
