I decided to start vinegar dosing to help with a runaway GHA problem. Thought vinegar dosing will help reduce nutrients with a decent amount of water changes and reduced feeding. The GHA did recede a lot especially by turning off the light (tank is currently a fowlr). But now I have a cyano problem. Read that vinegar dosing in establish tanks potentially lead to cyano. Tried RedSlime remover but it came back. Question: 1. Should I continue vinegar dosing (approx 70 ml a day for 200 gallons). Try another dose of RedSlime along with Dr Tims bacteria 2. Stop vinegar dosing and just focus on trying to grow Chaeto (just setup a fuge in 75 gallon sump to grow Chaeto) Thoughts?
Fwiw, the final cure to my algae issues was chaeto (& a few others) in a sump, when no amount of dosing or GFO would keep it at bay.
