Is it common for a derasa to move around the sand bed all on its own? I swear mine has been migrating across the sand bed this past week!

Yup, they do move to where they are happy. I have seen it not only in my tank but freshwater clams in my lake up north

One of my squamosas has been jumping all over the place, even found him way up at the top of the rock pile one day. So I don't think it is that uncommon.

But I have been taking it as a sign that he is unhappy.
