Does anybody here ever come across these clams? Thanks.
Many years ago small gigas were reasonably attainable, but I do not think any one is producing gigas any more. The last ones I saw come in (around 2007) were over a foot long. If that was from one of the last batches, they would probably be 2ft+ now.
I haven't seen one in years. I have spoke to a few different pet stores, who said they come across them sometimes. I leave my number. Said call me next time one comes in. Never heard from any. There was one one eBay a few months ago it was 24 inches or so. But was in New Jersey. Would of been a fun adventure, lugging that clam back here. Sold, though.
I noticed DD had squamosa and derasa clams from Biota in today's update. I pulled up biota's website and found this:
I wonder if "next year" is 2017
I'd love to be able to get a gigas for our new big tank - we'd actually be able to grow it up to a really large size in that tank.
