ID sponge?

    Hey, is the orange/ yellow thing a sponge? Is so, what are the polip things coming out of it in the second picture? Should I keep it, or scrub the cup coral down?

    For sure keep it. Highly unlikely that type will become a pest. As far as ID goes just a typical hitchhiker sponges. Will mostly just grow on the undersides of rockwork etc. Silicate is beneficial if your filtration is mature. Too much and diatoms can bloom. I dose 5mil of liquid glass per month and it gets consumed quickly.

    So you don't think the polips growing on it would be a pest either?
