Anyone know where I can buy a couple yards of standard filter mesh material?

I'm using a fleece material now which is great for really fine material but clogs faster than I would like at this point.

    What about quilt batting?
Nick has used it in his freshwater filters for years

I have some it works well but at this point I'm wanting to try a true mesh.

How about a 7" x 16" 200 micron or 7" x 30" 300 micron mesh filter sock where you cut off stitching to remove the plastic ring, you can also remove the stitching down the length to get a flat piece. I will be donating some of the 200 micron socks to the swap meet raffle but can sell the 16" for $4 each and the 30" for $5

Love to get my filter padding and yarn all at the same stop.

Appreciate the suggestions, I'm definitely needing several yards of actual mesh like the 200 micron.

I've only come across measured micron felt material, but not the mesh. Since you only need a small amount, your best bet may be buying one of the largest 200 micron drawstring mesh bags you can find and cutting it size. Look at an industrial supplier as you may find a larger one there than through pet supply.

The only other thing close to what you're looking for is the material like what roller mat filters use. 100 micron was the coarsest I found, and you have to buy a 150 foot roll.

Maybe you can find cheesecloth in the material and mesh you're looking for?

Found one selling by the yard... http://www.componentsupplycompany.com
Was able to select the material and virtually any micron I want.
