Dumb question... How are you going to get the screen out to scrape? Doesn't it come out the top?

I see hinges... thinking it must tip down for access.
But you'd want to make sure that all of the water was drained out of the bottom before tipping the unit towards yourself.

Yep, swings down for access. There is about a 1\2 inch flange on the bottom so I am hoping I can change it without having any water spill out[IMG]

for what it's worth, algae will grow inside the box itself and need to be cleaned off too. Looks like you can get in there pretty good just don't want it turning into a maintenance headache

I plan too! Just trying to finish the pool room first :)

    Running with no leaks :)

The screen is 13.5 inches long. Everywhere I have read says 35 gph per inch. This means I need about 473 gph actual. The pump I have is rated for 400gph but is only about 320gph actual.

So it looks like I need a new pump. Any suggestions?

If you were closer I would take it in a heartbeat. Not sure the next time I could get down your way.

I'm betting it'll start taking off now that there is a base.
