Tried to search but couldn't find my answer i was looking for. I've been having to dose a lot of two part for alk on my 55g elos tank. So i thought about using a low dose kalk in my ATO. I put 2 spoons into a 5g bucket, let it sit and then poured the clear solution into the ATO. Its been a week and ive had to dose less and stayed pretty consistent. that being said, i have a little sediment on the bottom of the ATO but not much. Wondering if i add regular RODI if the sediment will disappear and be absorbed?

it's unlikely. the sludge at the bottom of saturated kalkwasser solutions is largely impurities that don't dissolve well. you want to make sure that your ATO reservoir's pump is suspended above the undissolved particulates so that the pump does not suck them up and clog or push them through to your tank.

your trick of first mixing the kalkwasser solution in a separate bucket is a good one to keep the bottom of the reservoir mostly clean, albeit an extra step and more work.

I agree, that is exactly what I always do.
