I have a mixed reef 180 in wall with 6 five foot T5's overdriven with ice cap ballasts. I'm looking at updating since I need new bulbs, reflectors, and a ballast. I'm looking for recommendations that will allow SPS growth and good actinic for color for a decent price. what is everyone's recommendations for this size rank that I don't need to take out a second mortgage to buy.

I would just do ATI sunpower. Cheaper than doing LED as you would need 3 units minimum.

What about metal halide as I have a good sized room behind the wall so I don't think I should have too much of a heat problem???

    +1 for metal halides.

By far the most economical option if you don't mind buying used - you can get second hand metal halide parts for practically nothing.

Gamepoint - If you are interesting in a metal halide fixture, I have a 72 " Coralife - Aqualight Pro fixture. It has (3) 150 watt 10,000K HQI Metal Halide bulbs, (4) 96 watt Power Compact Florescent and (4) 1 watt Lunar bluemoon. The fixture is in good shape. The MH bulbs work but they will need to be replaced. If you are interested, its free. You would have to pick it up in Bloomington. If you would like a picture of the fixture please provide your cell phone # and I will send you a pic.
