As backup to my angelfish project, I have the clownfish still. Last weekend I collected a small number of clownfish larvae to raise up. These came from my snowflake pair, so a mix of normal ocellaris and orange snowflakes will result.

These pics are from day 5 or 6.

This photo is the most important. It shows the tip of the spine curving up in the tail. This stage is called Flexion, and is what I keep looking for in the angelfish. It marks a significant developmental bottleneck that can be challenging to get past in difficult larvae.

I was going to ask about the Flexion Stage in the Joculator thread, but the photo explains it all very well.
    Keep up the great work.

What is it about flexion stage that is a hurdle?

I'm sure Chad has a more sophisticated answer, but to me its just a milestone. Metamorphisis is the bigger hurdle (IMHO and for clownfish).

Thats one way to get them to host, leave them no choice. They make that nem look huge.
