I was getting anxious that there wouldn't be any Open House Tours this year at the LiveAquaria Coral Farm & Aquatic Life Facility in Rhinelander, but they just released a date for next month.

LiveAquaria Coral Farm & Aquatic Life Facility Open House
    Saturday, November 10th at 10AM to 2PM.

More information and making reservations can be found here or here.

If you've never attended one of these events, it's worth the drive over there. It's Wisconsin, it's beautiful!!!

Why would anyone go to this event with the announcement of Flounder’s Frags? Cheese heads will be driving to Crystal soon! This is how apple was started! I would put mr flounder in the same class as jobs...

Why? It's called networking; making and maintaining friendships.
I'll be stopping by Carl's (we're friends on a first name basis) soon enough.

(For further reference... I'm a proud 'Sconi and I love cheese, but I'm not a one of those people! Skol Vikings!!!)

It's too bad this falls on the day of Ben's house meeting (which I would like to see the new tank), but this is kind of my thing.

I'm assuming that they've completed the renovations for the new staffing/offices that was happening this spring/summer.
I was just chatting with Kevin on Monday night and he never mentioned anything about this event, so I was quite surprised today.

I really try to avoid going east of the Mississippi, but I risk it for coral.

For those of you that have traveled to this Mecca of aquaria, can you give the highlights?
    Cool facilities?
Access to Corals and Fish others don’t?
    Sales?
    Etc...

If I’m going to ask Jlanger to pick me up I want to make sure it is worth our time? Sounds like it is.

It's a place that is worth visiting at least once if you've ever ordered from them. It is a true open house. Since the facility is not open to the public, these tours are the only chance that you get to see inside the facility.
The tour shows you everything from the water holding vats, the water mixing stations, the filtration systems, the acclimation station the holding tanks and the packaging station. You're allowed to see their reef display systems. (Some of them have moved due to the renovations, but there are several to look at and ask questions about.)
They do have a raffle that includes some standard equipment, salt mix and small coral packages.
As far as livestock is concerned, it's like going to a farmer's market. You look into large systems filled with corals, inverts and fish and can select the exact piece your looking at; the best WYSIWYG experience.

Sure, the bathrooms are nice and clean.

The facility has plenty of corals and fish in house that are not yet listed on the Diver's Den website. You're able to purchase those that are listed on the website and not yet sold. Their aquacultured coral sections are usually loaded with frags that you don't get to see on the Diver's Den page of the website; those are listed on the Aquacultured Corals page of the regular LiveAquaria listings.

Livestock orders up to $499.99 save 10%.
Livestock orders $500 and over save 20%.
Retail store saves 10%. (Including catalog orders while visiting.)

It's east of the Mississippi, so you know that you won't be running into any riffraff while you're in beautiful Wisconsin.

You'll pick me up at my front door at 06:30AM with a 20oz Kwik Trip hot chocolate and a box of Glazers.

From what I got to see in May, all of the offices along the hallway got moved into the newly renovated end of the building. The old offices were planned to be rooms for doing video and photography for the website and social media. Most of the livestock systems were still the same; hard to renovate all those systems, I'm sure. Some livestock sections did get moved or reclassified though.
