If they are close enough I'd be happy to help.
Also was planning on doing it for my school once I get the all clear for my reefinh club. So expect some plees for donations soon enough! :look:

So if they respond just let me know what school and hopefully it's within reach (Or at the very least I'll donate corals)

    Good luck with the tank!

I've got a 20 gallon tall and stand with all the equipment for either fresh or salt to go with it that I could donate.

I really didn't want to steer the thread in a wrong direction, but before we actually go further can someone find out the school and district of in this ad?

All-if-not-most-of-us are willing to do good things for the school and for good causes, but we need to look ahead.

As for me, when I post my son/daughter's school, I would post the school and the district... Perhaps the district.

Before we know it, this could be some jack-***** on craigslist looking for a quick way to get free aquarium stuff from generosity individuals and doing it in the name of the "my son's school” Next thing you’ll find out is the stuff(s) you gave away are being auction off on craigslist or someone is using them instead of “my son’s school”

In general we are very open to support any good causes as long they are legit and our members want to support it.

I don't know if the intention is to support this in the name of TCMAS or as a private initiative but if you want to make this a club matter we would need to be informed and get detailed information before we can stand behind this initiative.
I hope you understand TCMAS as an organization we need to be sure everything is legit and we don't want to run in any trouble if this is not the case.

    On a side note
I have been approached by a non-profit organisation working for a Health Center here in Minnesota. They have a home for their long-term patients including children and wants to put a saltwater tank in this home for those patients living there to enjoy and distract them from their illness. Once we have all the information together and discussed if and how we can help them we will post an update here on the forum.

Well put Maxreefer because I hate to say it but many people ask for donations and they don't have any details about their plans such as how this will benefit others, a written approval from a faculty saying that they back this up, an active faculty who knows the responsibility they will have to take for the lifespan of the tank, and that this is actually going for a class or organization at a school, hospital or wherever which has actual members who currently express interest in this and share the responsibilities caring of the tank. The only information that most people come up with are "I" want to do something and "I" need equipment and "I" would like your donations. As you can see from those kind of statements it only expresses your own intentions and not that of the school or wherever this tank may be placed.

I would love to help. One of the schools in Rochester was doing this last year for science class.
I would love to donate time or items that I have lying around as well. So please let me know as well.
    Thanks
    Tara
