I've been without a tank for roughly 4 years due to a change in housing. Now that we are settled in a new place the time was right for a new setup.

My last tank was a standard 75G which I enjoyed. I knew that I would want something wider for the new setup. I decided on a SC Aquariums 100G which is 48" x 24" x 20". I am very pleased with the quality of the SC tank. My only complaint is that I cannot get my arm into the overflow due to the eurobracing.

The plans for the tank are to be SPS dominant with a few LPS. This will be my first time with LED lighting.

    Here are equipment details:
    - Tank: SC Aquariums 100G
    - Stand: A repainted DIY stand I made years ago. Nothing fancy but gets the job done.:)
    - Sand: Tropic Eden Mesoflakes
    - Rock: BRS Pukani
    - Lights: (2) Radion XR30W G4 Pro's
    - Controller: Apex & Reeflink
    - Flow: (2) MP40W QD's
    - Sump: Bashea Bio-Fuge
    - Skimmer: Bubble King 180 Mini
    - Return: Varios 6
    - ATO: Tunze (will switch to Neptune ATK when back in stock)
    - Dosing: Neptune DOS
    - Reactors: TBD

I started this tank with Bio-Spira to help with the cycle. I have never used this product before. They say you can add fish right away but I waited a week to make sure the parameters where in check. I added two banggai's cardinals over the weekend. I will head to SWE this weekend to get a couple more fish.

Here are a few pictures to get it started. I really need to get the wiring organized. The ATO tank next to the stand will be relocated to the closet next to the setup. I also wish I would have refined the stand a bit more and used colored PVC for the plumbing that way I would leave the doors off the stand.

    Time for a small update.

Everything has been pretty stable besides a few small algae outbreaks. Have added 15+ SPS and numerous fish. I am taking a gamble and added a Flame Angel for the first time. I will keep an eye on it to see if it starts nipping at the SPS.

I also added a DIY algae reactor a few weeks ago. The reactor has been working great and has helped keep my parameters in check.

I am a little nervous to go home tonight to work on my skimmer. I was messing around with it this morning and I dropped the drain plug from the collection cup and of course it got sucked into the skimmer pump. I shut it off and left for work.

Installed the new Aquatic Life T5HO Hybrid Lighting Fixture to supplement the Radions.

Pretty impressive so far. Nice clean way to add T5's to existing LED's for those without a canopy.

Can the Aquaticlife T5 hybrid work with Kessil AP700 in your experience?

    TIA,

Not sure on the AP700. There's a thread on R2R about the fixtures and I believe someone asked about the AP700. Not sure what the response was.

I have been very pleased with the quality of the SC Aquarium. My stand is DIY so I cannot comment on them.

Looking great, love to hear how your algae reactor does/is doing!
