Background...

My first experience with saltwater was in 1996 when I had a standard AGA 120 gallon aquarium with 120 lbs. Puka shell substrate and 150 lbs live rock. It had the NO twin tube florescent light fixture and a magnum 350 canister filter. It was a FOWLR tank and did pretty well at the time. About a year later I moved and decided I didn’t have the time to take care of the tank and got rid of the system. Then approximately 5 years ago I decided to get back in to saltwater and setup a 29 gallon aquarium, and at this time is when I started to keep corals. About 1 year later I got a 55 gallon setup really cheap and had that for the next 2 years. Then about a year ago I bought my current 120 gallon acrylic from a fellow TCMAS member and now I have a SPS dominated mixed reef tank.

Water Flow...

Water flow is Handled by 2 Seio 1500’s controlled by AC Jr. set to run with left side on for 8 hours, both on for 8 hours then right side on for 8 hours. Return pump is 3600 gph at 0’ head. It not only supplies flow to my tank but also feeds both my skimmer And calcium reactor. I estimate return flow to be approximately 1000 gph

Water Supply...

Top-off water is provided by an Air Water and Ice 75 gpd RO-DI unit. I Have an auto top off set up to dose 2-2.5 gallons kalkwasser at night to help eliminate nightly ph swings. It is set up with an aqua lifter pump controlled by the AC Jr. and a 10 gallon reservoir. I'm pretty satisfied with the results so far.
