Cyanobacteria. Its my sandbed cycling. the sand is only 3 weeks old.

Yep, that cyano is unavoidable with new sand IME. Couple months tops and it'll be gone. I think it's something with the nutrients in the new sand.

Yeah thats one thing I have learned over the years is that you always get it with new sand. Just got to have patience and let it go away on its own. Ijust make sure its not choking out corals or anything.

Probably a dumb question, but that neon green slimy stuff on the rocks, what is it? I've got some in my tank and am not sure what it is. Is it just a different color of cyano?
