So now the year is coming to a close. Lets here some of the goals or improvements that you plan to implement for your fish tank in 2010.

For me, my goal is to get daily water change system in place. I'm planning to do a 3 gallon ( roughly 1% of total volumne ) water change per day. It's not quite as effeicient as a 1 time 30% water change would be. It works out to be the 26%, which is only 4% less effeicient than a single water change. The added consistancy and convienience should make up for the 4%.

Have lots of ideas and going to try a non-dosing pump method first. Should cost under $100. If it doesn't go as well as I hope then I'll fall back on using dosing pumps which is the most common way people achieve it.

What's your plans for 2010 to improve your system ?

For me, the goal is to get the tank into the home from the garage & then decide if it will be a reef or FW :gay1:

Curious about your everyday water change plan... is the goal to constantly replenish elements in the water?

...start a display system that will, by the end of the year, be able to go mostly unaltered for 5 years (repairs and trimming and maintenance aside).

Simplify. That's my plan - the simpler and easier it is the better.

The #1 personal goal is so that water changes is no longer a chore.

#2 is to try something I've never done before. I have a need to keep trying things. I've tinkered in this hobby for 14 years now, I just have a need to tinker.

This article breifly outlines some of the reasons.

Also people report that ORP drastically falls for several days after a water change. Doing smaller ones will have a lower impact thus ( in theory ) should also be better for the inhabitants.

my goal for 2010 is to raise something. that was also my goal for 2009, while i've seen and done some cool things, i haven't raised any baby fish. i have reared a sponge though.

i also want to have my system capable of me not being around for a week at a time.

I hope to get my new system fully stocked and have zero casualties in the first year. I wasn't able to do that on my first tank due to fish jumping but this new system is all locked down (I think!).

finally get a screen top on my tank. Keep everything alive and get a lot more corals stocked and growing. Maybe start a bigger fish only system if my wife will allow it.

Drill the rock in my 70 reef so that I am forced to stop tinkering with it

Build Kevin's 120 FOWLR - set up a bucket less W/C system for the 120 as well

2010 reef goals:
1. Finish fish room - install sink, and sump drain
2. Finish automation - install floor sensors, float valves, water changer, and ro/di unit
3. Re-aquascape with less rock and add more sand
4. Finally start/finish build thread :)
5. Host a meeting
